Expected to appeal to a wider variety of boaters, the new
Captiva 196s open up the brand to compete in one of the
largest-volume length segments. Available with either 4.3- or 5.0-liter power,
the sterndrive Captiva measures 19 feet, 6 inches. The outboard version is "specifically built to capture
interest of boaters in coastal regions and northern climates, where outboard
power continues to grow as a preferred power option," says the manufacturer.
The success of our Rinker Captiva 216 (introduced early in 2011) made the decision to offer a smaller product easy, so we positioned it to compete very well in a popular segment. said Rinker Brand Manager Michael Kamaloski. Bringing back outboard power to the Rinker Captiva Sportboat line is an important step for us, both for consumers as well as for our dealers. It raises the bar even higher in terms of being able to compete in any market in the country.
