Alumacraft Strengthens Presence on Great Lakes


Alumacraft, an aluminum boat builder based in St. Peter, Minnesota, has announced the addition of SkipperBud’s to its dealer network. Sixteen of SkipperBud’s US-based locations are on the Great Lakes, including Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie.

“We’re so pleased to be able to sign SkipperBud’s and welcome them to our dealer family,” says Bruce Baron, Alumacraft Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Their multiple locations throughout the Midwest will bring us a strong presence on the Great Lakes, filling a market that will be critical to our continued growth and expansion. We will be in six strategic locations throughout Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin.”

Family owned since 1959, SkipperBud’s employs more than 300 people in 23 sales, service and storage locations in California, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Washington and Wisconsin.

Alumacraft employs more than 200 workers and offers 75 models of aluminum boats. The 71-year-old privately owned company operates two manufacturing plants located in St. Peter, Minnesota and Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
