Boating Ontario Partners with Parks Canada at Spring Regional Meetings

Boating Ontario is inviting its members to attend one of several of its upcoming spring regional meetings. Registration is free at the meetings, where Boating Ontario will be seeking member input to help guide the future direction of the association.

This year, Boating Ontario will be providing guests with an Industry Education Toolkit, containing resources to help its members grow boating within their regions.

The Toolkit includes:

  • An introduction to the new BoatingOntario.ca website. Bring your laptop and we will build you a custom profile for consumers to find you and guide you through the resources on the site for you and your customers.
  • Government updates on issues in your region and across the province
  • Clean Marine update on the latest in environmental practices.
  • New Research from Discover Boating – unlocking keys to attracting first-time boat buyers.

Canada’s 150th Celebrations
With the announcement of free lockage at all Parks Canada Historic Canals for 2017, Boating Ontario is partnering with Parks Canada to bring together marina operators, municipal officials, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and tourism partners from along the Trent-Severn Waterway and Rideau Canal. Its plan is to discuss impacts to the system and ways to better prepare for what we expect will be a very busy navigation season.

During the meetings, Parks Canada will be looking to identify current mooring and service capacity and how best everyone can work together to deal with increased demand. They will also be launching a new and exciting service dedicated solely to our boater community – this new tool can be used, free of charge, by all stakeholders to help promote the waterways and communities along their length.

A webinar will also be available for those who can’t attend a meeting in person. Boating Ontario promises to provide additional details on its webinar series soon.
