Canadian Outboard Engine Shipments Up in February


Wholesale shipments of outboard engines were up in Canada for the National Marine Manufacturer’s (NMMA) control group of manufacturer members. According to the data, shipments jumped 6.5 percent for the 12 months through February 2017. Corresponding dollars were up 11.5 percent, while warranty card registrations were up 0.5 percent.

South of the border, according to NMMA’s February Monthly Shipment Report (MSR) on wholesale shipments, US outboard engine wholesale shipments for NMMA’s control group of manufacturers (representing 95 percent of the market) grew by 6.1 percent for the 12 months through February 2017. Gains were led by four-strokes and higher-powered engines. Corresponding dollars were up 9.4 percent.
