Gananoque, ON will host the new 1000 Islands Boat Show March 26 to 28 at the location of the former Collins & Aikman Plastics Plant just off Highway 401.
Lindsey Foster, Show Manager, who has organized the Kingston Boat Show for the past two years, says she wanted to create a regional show.
“We're trying to bring people in all the way from Trenton through to Prescott and northwards up to Smith Falls. This is where we're focusing our marketing campaign, to make this a more regional show. Gananoque is the perfect location because it is part of the Thousand Islands. Everything boaters love about this area is here.”
Foster expects the 1000 Islands Boat Show to feature between 50 to 60 exhibitors, and hopes to complete selling booth space by the end of February. Foster reports that the show has already received significant support from the local township.
“The Town of Gananoque will be working with its local businesses to help promote the show,” says Foster. “All of our marketing materials are going to the Town and they're distributing them to their members. It's refreshing to deal with a municipality that wants your business and wants to help their own community by promoting tourism.”
Foster also plans to advertise the show through print, radio, television and online.
Admission is free for children and $5 for adults. The show will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
