Crowds of people visited the 3rd annual Muskoka In-Water Boat and Cottage Show held at Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst, ON from July 23 to 25 inclusive.
The free-admission show presents its exhibitors the unique opportunity of taking potential new customers out for a quick spin on the boat that catches their interest, set to the picturesque backdrop of Lake Muskoka's surrounding area.
Last December, Canwest Shows, Calgary, AB, turned the show over to Caneast Shows, Ottawa, ON, which now owns and operates the event.
Show Manager, Nori Richens was pleased with the show's results in her first year overseeing the event. “We had an excellent turn out and the weather was on our side,” says Richens. “We had more boats in the water than we've had in the past.” Last year the show featured approximately 90 boats on display.
Crate's Lake Country Boats, an exclusive dealer of Regal boats in Orillia, Ontario, reports having a very positive experience at the show. “We brought five boats ranging from 19 to 25 feet,” says Dan Crate in Sales for the dealer. “We were very happy about how we did at the show and we'll be back next year. There was good interest on Saturday and steady crowds despite spotty weather. Sunday was a zoo, there were plenty of people at the show. We sold a couple of boats and our salesmen have at least a half a dozen good leads.”
