Representatives from the Atlantic Marine Trades Association (AMTA) as well as sponsors Fairway Insurance, GE Capital CDF and TD Bank, hosted a reception at Exhibition Park in Halifax, Scotia. Held in late February, the AMTA event served to recognized several industry members with awards.
Among those honoured were Catherine MacNutt of Master Promotions Ltd who is Manager of Operations for the Halifax International Boat Show; Brad Fleet, current President of the Atlantic Marine Trades Association and Chair of the Boat Show Committee; and Chip Dickinson, Training and Certification Coordinator for the Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association.
"Catherine does a great job of marketing the Halifax International Boat Show and ensuring it operates smoothly,' says Patricia Nelder, AMTA's Executive Director. "Her award is Service to the Recreational Marine Industry.'
"Brad is in his third year serving as President,' says Nelder. "Usually our presidents only serve for two years. Brad has also been Boat Show Chair for the last five years. He's a great volunteer in the industry. His award is the Presidents Award.'
Nelder says Dickinson was recognized for his tireless efforts serving the recreational marine industry in Atlantic Canada.
The AMTA also recognized Quartermaster Marine in Charlottetown, PEI, for the celebration of its 30th Anniversary in the recreational marine industry.
