Aquanaute Rendez-vous Nautique's 10th anniversary was met with the event's highest attendance to date. Held on the beach of Quebec's Oka National Park in mid August, organizers arranged for a river shuttle from Bobino marina, allowing an additional 200 non-boaters to access the secluded beach.
Those not arriving by boat joined a large crowd of recreational boaters who beached hundreds of boats and PWCs along the shoreline on a beautiful warm and sunny day.
The first 100 attendees received gift bags including information about the event and its partners. Throughout the day, over $4000 in gifts and prizes were distributed by the event organizer, Aquanaute Training Centre. Among the notable prizes was a Icom VHF “Float'nFlash” marine transceiver.
Several boat dealers used the event as an opportunity to demo their products.
Participants were entertained with music provided by K.O. Entertainment and Dj SpecialK. Food and drinks were available at the Buns Hamburger House and Aquahydrate kiosks.
For those who enjoy the more extreme sports, Flyboard Quebec was onsite demonstrating its Flyboard product. Limbo and tug of war were once again part of the festivities as was the event's traditional ‘ugliest lifejacket competition.' According to organizers, those familiar with the competition came prepared with their oldest life jackets for a chance at winning the competition's first prize – a brand new PFD.
