Surrey, BC-based, Breakwater Marine has opened its fourth dealership. The new store is located at 8407 Broadway in Everett, WA and comes less than a year after the Breakwater announced the opening of its Ferndale, WA dealership.
“This location used to be one of the highest volume stores for Olympic Boat Centers,” says Aaron Fell, Co-owner of Breakwater Marine and former regional manager of Olympic Boat Centers. “Our Ferndale Washington store services the higher northwest, a lot of Canadians. This store is completely different. This store is only 15 minutes outside of Seattle right on the Interstate 5. We recognized a huge demand in the Seattle boat market. The Everett store will service the Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and Seattle markets.”
The 5,000-square-foot Everett dealership is located on a three-acre property and will carry the same brands as the Ferndale dealership, including Larson, Striper and FinCraft.
Pre-owned inventory will also be carried at the new location. “Used is a huge part of it,” says Fell. “With four locations and the uniqueness of us now being 50 percent Canadian and 50 percent American, Canadians can now tap into US pre-owned product with better availability and vice-versa.”
According to Fell, the new location represents an inventory increase for the company of about 25 to 50 percent. “This is going to give us more buying power than we’ve ever had before,” says Fell of the store’s significance. He expects the Everett location to eventually produce the same sales volume as Breakwater Marine’s Surrey, BC store.
Fell expects to have inventory and a ‘soft opening’ at the new location by the end of this week. A grand opening is planned for the end of September. “By the end of this month we’ll be in full swing and it will be stocked.”
