BC Supreme Court Rules in Favour of Marine Business Over Lease Agreement

On July 15, the BC Supreme Court ruled in favour of Marine Masters Holding Ltd. (operating as Mercury Sales and Service), Ogden Point, BC, in case involving a lease dispute between the marine business and the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA).

For the time being, the decision prevents an increase in the bare-land lease for the property Mercury Sales and Service occupies. According to an article published by the Times Colonist, Victoria, BC, Mercury Sales and Service's lease will remain at $45,000 instead of the $140,000 sought by the GVHA.

The original lease agreement commenced on September 1, 1998 and expired February 28, 2007.
