Boating Business Raises Over $20,000 for Children's Charities

Boating Business magazine presented Boating for Children's Charity with a cheque in the amount of $20,010 at the Toronto International Boat Show's annual Industry Breakfast, held January 13. The proceeds were raised at Boating Business magazine's third annual Golf Tournament, held last June at the Shawneeki Golf and Country Club in Sharon, ON. Every year marine industry members participate in the event, where proceeds are raised for several children's charities through live and silent auctions. To date the tournament has raised approximately $51,000.

The proceeds will benefit Camp Oochigeas (Canada's first residential camp for children living with cancer), the Ontario Sailing Association Able Sail Access Boom Program (that helps disabled children and youth enjoy the recreation of sailing), The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada (that fulfills the favorite wishes of children with life threatening illnesses) and the Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund (sending special needs children to camps across Ontario).
