Boating Ontario, the provincial association representing dealers and marinas, will be holding a Best Practices Workshop in cooperation with representatives of the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas (MRAA). The one-day workshop will be held at the Nottawasaga Inn and Resort in Alliston, Ontario on March 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sam Dantzler, the event keynote speaker, will focus on the impact of working with employees to help grow referral business. Dantzler will discuss how a business' Employee Satisfaction Index (ESI) can be just as important as its Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI).
MRAA's President, Matt Gruhn, and Director of Membership and Education, Liz Walz, are both featured speakers at the event. Walz will discuss how to stay ahead in today's economy by implementing 12 techniques designed to improve results. Gruhn will talk about ‘The Most Important Question' a business can ask itself and the tools it needs to provide the answer. His topic will cover new ways a business can position itself for success.
Ken Price of Hub International will speak about Boating Ontario's insurance program for dealer members. His presentation will also include a forecast on future premium rate changes as well as tips on how to keep your rates down.
Dealerplan's Jeff McLean lends his perspective on the finance world, sharing his expertise on foreign exchange rates. His presentation will include strategies dealers may consider to better protect themselves from fluctuations in the currency market.
The event will also include an open forum session touching on several pre-determined topics. The discussions will include: how Boating Ontario can serve its members; Canada/US exchange rates and hedging; and whether or not members should charge a standard administration fee for processing licenses and registrations.
