Members of Ontario's recreational marine will once again have the opportunity to network and learn new ways to improve their businesses this fall at Boating Ontario's annual Conference and Trade Show. The association will hold its annual event, entitled ‘One Conference…the Entire Industry', from November 30 to December 2 at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario.
Boating Ontario has revealed a stalwart list of marine professionals set to serve as keynote speakers. These include Ron Huibers, President of Volvo Penta, Americas; Terry McNew, President of MasterCraft; and not-yet-named representative from Kropf Industrial sharing ‘A Canadian Success Story'.
The confernece will feature interactive sessions, including a Spotlight on Success (showcasing those who have successfully expanded their marine business), and Peer-to-Peer Workshops (with topics such as ‘how to benefit from the Canada/US exchange rate'; social media; Trent Severn and Rideau Canal Waterways with Parks Canada; invasive species; and Government regulations affecting your business).
Boating Ontario has also announced a new session called ‘Groupthink', which will see attendees broken into small groups to brainstorm potential solutions to timely industry concerns and then share those ideas in a creative format.
New this year, the association is offering a pair of training sessions, one specifically for office managers and the other for service department staff. Each session is four hours long and includes lunch and access to the Boating Ontario Trade Show. These sessions will take place on Tuesday December 1, with registration costing $95 per person.
In an effort to increase its participation numbers, Boating Ontario said it is offering first-timers to the event a special 50 percent off full registration. "We're trying to encourage people to bring new people from their businesses who have never been before or attract new companies that haven't attended previously,' says Jackie Crawford Wink, Boating Ontario's Project Coordinator.
The Boating Ontario Conference and Trade Show begins on a Monday afternoon and will culminate at the President's Gala on Wednesday evening (December 2). The tradeshow portion of the event will feature approximately 60 exhibitors, running from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the show's Tuesday (December 1).
