Boating Ontario, the association representing hundreds of marinas and boat dealers across the province, is seeking summer students to assist with its ongoing consumer programs. The positions have a start date of May 19 and applicants must be able to work weekends.
The association oversees the Clean Marine and Careers in Boating programs as well as strongly supports the provincial Discover Boating Campaign.
The Program Assistant positions offered by the association will entail a variety of tasks, including administration, marketing, promotions as well as public and media relations.
Administrative tasks include assisting with the organization and the implementation of recreational boating events, and the completion of event reports.
Marketing and promotions tasks include assisting with program promotions, attending recreational boating events and tradeshows with promotional displays, promoting job opportunities in the marine industry, and raising the general public's awareness about Boating Ontario's various programs.
Public and media relation tasks include the distribution of information to Boating Ontario members, media, and the general public on the various programs and events.
Boating Ontario will also be looking for applicants with computer experience, good communication skills, a valid driver's licence, boating experience, and standard first aid and CPR training.
