Boating Ontario to Hold 2nd Annual Best Practices Workshop on April 8

Boating Ontario Dealer will hold its annual Best Practices Workshop on April 8, 2015 at Nottawasaga Inn and Resort in Alliston, Ontario.

Last year the event drew nearly 80 attendees. This year the association is aiming for 100 guests.

"Boating Ontario's governors decided they wanted to bring and educational and training component to Canada,' says Cynthia Hodgson, Boating Ontario's Marketing Manager. "We're also looking at potentially holding a second event like this later in the year – perhaps in the fall. We want to offer our members more association benefits, and training is one of the things that they wanted. Some of our dealers would pay quite a bit more to see some of these speakers down in the US, but if we can provide them the training here instead, then all the better.'

Sales process expert and public speaker, Glenn Roller, is this year's keynote speaker. Roller specializes in providing dealer staff sales training designed to create highly competent salespeople. He also believes dealer principals can benefit from viewing sales from both a domestic and international perspective, as he'll cover in his presentation.

"We also have presenters coming in to handle our Foreign Exchange and Importing and Exporting Boats topics,' describes Hodgson. "Our Executive Director, Al Donaldson, will handle the HST Ruling on Finance Income presentation. Rob Davidson (Program Coordinator) is speaking on behalf of Georgian College about finding marine mechanics despite the shortage.'

For the first time at the event, Boating Ontario will host a mobile interactive session. Delegates will be able to collectively respond to industry-related questions at the show via smartphone. "We're going to use the Poll Everywhere app to offer live audience participation,' says Hodgson. "Questions can be raised and answered in real-time. It's very interactive and I believe it will work really well.'
