Breakwater Marine, headquartered in Surrey, BC, has opened its first on-water yacht and cruiser location in downtown Seattle, WA. The new dealership will specialize in sales and brokerage, but will also offer mobile service and have a small chandlery shop.
Breakwater Marine's new Lake Union Yacht Center store is located at 10 E. Allison Street on Lake Union. The dealership will carry vessels ranging from 17 to 55 feet in length including Carver and Marquis Yachts, Larson cruisers and runabouts, and Striper fish boats.
"The on the water location not only allows us to show and stock Carver and Marquis Yachts, but provides us the ability to demonstrate our boats more effectively,' says Aaron Fell, Breakwater Marine's Co-owner. "This was the correct move for us. This facility will help potential boaters learn more about the product itself and the boating lifestyle. After a strong Seattle Boat Show, we felt the timing was perfect to expand our operations further south in the US.'
Breakwater Marine's Lake Union Yacht Center will have 13 slips at its disposal, which the dealership will use to demonstrate the vessels it offers. "The Mariner series for Carver Yachts was extremely popular in the Pacific Northwest ten years ago,' explains Fell. "So we'll be reintroducing it, doing demonstrations on the boats themselves. We're going to let people get out on the water and try them out in Lake Union.'
The opening represents Breakwater's fourth destination dealership (its third in Washington State). Breakwater Marine opened in Ferndale, WA in 2010 and Everett in 2011 – both directly on the I-5 Highway.
"We attribute our growth to not only the brands we carry, but the amazing team members we have assembled in each of our four locations,' adds Fell. "We are currently planning the announcement of more locations.'
The Breakwater Marine Lake Union Yacht Center is already open and will host a grand opening sale on April 20.
