Brunswick Announces 2010 Facility Safety Award Winners

Brunswick Corporation has announced the recipients of its safety award program for 2010. Three facilities received the Chairman's Safety Award; the company's highest, while 21 additional facilities were recognized with Distinguished Awards for their 2010 safety performance.

The purpose of the program is to recognize employees and facilities that have achieved safety and health performance through promoting and practicing safety awareness, minimizing workplace injuries.  All Brunswick manufacturing and distribution facilities worldwide are eligible for such recognition.

Recipient facilities of the Chairman's Safety Award include:

• Edgewater, FL, Brunswick Commercial and Government Products;
• Taycheedah, Wis., Mercury Marine Racing; and  
• Palm Coast, FL, Brunswick Recreational Boats.

Each Chairman's Safety Award recipient facility will receive a $10,000 grant from Brunswick, which will be donated to a local charity chosen by the plant.  Additionally, the Palm Coast facility achieved six million hours worked without a lost-time incident in December 2010, and the Taycheedah facility achieved one million hours without a lost-time incident in January 2010.

The Distinguished Safety Award is achieved by meeting specific safety performance results. Winners of the award for 2010 include:
