Brunswick Boat Group (BBG), Knoxville, TN, and Sea-Fire Marine, Baltimore, MD, have signed a three-year exclusive supply agreement. Sea-Fire Marine will supply its fire suppression systems for BBG's Bayliner, Meridian, Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Hatteras and Cabo boat brands.
“We are pleased with our long-standing relationship with Sea-Fire,” said Tim Wild, Vice President, Supply Chain for Brunswick Boat Group. “BBG brands continue to introduce new and innovative models, and we appreciate Sea-Fire's innovative input on fire suppression systems for our vessels.”
Prior to the new deal, Sea-Fire was already supplying its fire suppression systems for most of the Brunswick boat brands listed in the new agreement. Ernie Ellis, Sea-Fire President says the new agreement represents an approximately 25 percent increase in business for Sea-Fire from BBG. "We've had a long-term relationship with Brunswick Boat Group, but this is the first formal agreement we've had with them,' explains Ellis in an exclusive interview with Boating Business. "I think this agreement solidifies our relationship with Brunswick and at the same time provide us the opportunity to participate in some of the international brands that they have.'
Ellis also says the deal represents the industry's confidence in Sea-Fire's environmentally friendly extinguishing systems and its ability to provide good customer service. Sea-Fire Marine's fire suppression technology is used in the recreational and commercial marine industries, and on offshore facilities. The systems, manufactured in the US and UK, are approved by major class agencies worldwide.
