Organizers of the 26th annual Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) have announced a call for entries for the annual Design Award METS (DAME), described as the world's most prestigious design competition for new marine equipment and accessories.
The annual DAME Award program puts innovative new products into the spotlight at the show, helping to generate product awareness and international media interest. "Winning the DAME Award in 2012 for Deep Blue, the world's first electric production outboard for higher power classes, was the perfect platform for launching Deep Blue to market,' said Dr. Christoph Ballin, CEO of Torqeedo. "We received a phenomenal amount of attention from the world's press and many new contacts were made, which has led to new business for us.'
Exhibitors at the 2013 METS are invited to complete the online application by September 17, 2013. Click here to download a PDF application. The entry fee is €150 per product, with all proceeds donated to boating-related charities. For 2013, DAME Award entries will be donated to two groups – Sailability, an organization dedicated to making boating accessible to people with disabilities, and Freedom Waters, an organization that aims to provide boating opportunities for people with disabilities, life threatening illnesses, youth at risk, and others with special needs.
The 26th METS will be held from November 19 to 21 2013 at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre, the Netherlands.
