Kelowna, BC-based fibreglass boatguilder Campion Marine announced today it has finalized an agreement with Doohan Company Limited to distribute Campion boats in South Korea, effective June 1, 2012.
As reported in the July 2012 issue of Boating Business magazine, Campion Marine exhibited at the 2012 Korean International Boat Show as part of the North American Pavilion organized by the National Marine Manufacturer's Association (NMMA). There, Campion President Brock Elliott met with Mr. Park Min Seok of Doohan Company to work out details of the distribution agreement.
"We are extremely excited to have Doohan Company Limited as our distributor to enter the Korean market. With strong government support to promote leisure boating, Korea is a prime market for the quality product that Campion represents,' said Elliott. "We look forward to hosting Mr. Park Min Seok at our 39th Annual Dealer Celebration which will take place August 26th and 27th in Kelowna.'
Elliott told Boating Business that South Korea represents significant market potential for Campion "Our partner is in the process of completing a new boat showroom in a large, newly renovated building right on a major highway, with outstanding visibility,' said Elliott. "That will become a flagship location for Campion in Korea, supporting potentially seven additional showrooms to be built.'
Campion has been steadily building its export business in recent years, and now sells its product in 30 different countries. In 2011 the company exhibited at the Shanghai International Boat Show, and subsequently signed a distributor in China.
