Campion Marine Inc. recently hosted its 40th Dealer Conference in Kelowna, British Columbia. With representatives from 40 different North American dealerships present, the company is optimistic about the upcoming year.
During the event, Campion's dealer network was introduced to the 2014 model lineup, which now includes the newly acquired Reinell brand.
"We're offering 10 Reinell models ranging from 16 feet to 20 feet, seven inches for 2014,' says Campion President, Brock Elliott. "The focus for the brand will be a more affordable model than a Campion. Reinell never offered outboard models before, but we'll be introducing four OB models among the 10. More models will be coming for the future.'
At the dealer meeting, Campion displayed one of the new outboard Reinells, an 18-foot bowrider (180). Elliott also had three other Reinells under construction back at Campion's factory, including a 197 Fish N Ski I/O, 185 Fish N Ski I/O and 207 bowrider I/O.
Elliott says the new Reinells will debut at the upcoming Toronto International Boat Show in January.
Regarding the company's 40th anniversary, Elliott was very pleased with the support showed by attending dealers. "Forty years is quite a historic milestone; one that we are very proud to have achieved through the commitment and support of our dealer network, our dedicated and talented staff and our suppliers,' he says. "We had a very good turnout of dealers this year and are excited about the coming model year. With Reinell, we look forward to being able to provide our dealers with a lower cost brand to complement the premium Campion line up. We are proud and passionate about the quality of our boats and our continued innovation to go green. We had 25 models on display for our dealers to inspect and test drive.'
During the event, Campion welcomed several new dealers to its network. Among them were Factory Recreation in Midland, Ontario; Gateway Powersports & Marine in Peterborough, Ontario; Howell's Marine in Chatham, Ontario; Fenelon Falls Marina in Fenelon Falls, Ontario; RM Sport in Val D'or, Quebec; Wallace Marine in Great Falls, Montana, and Beckstrand Marine, Salt Lake City, Utah.
"I've spent 37 years of my life in this marine business,' says Bob Howell, Owner of Howell's Marine in Chatham, Ontario. "What Campion has established has been around for years. When you talk to Brock, it's like talking to your brother; I feel comfortable taking his product because he's a real person – he doesn't sound like he's just trying to sell you stuff. Campion is also willing to grow with my business. Today, we still have to watch the economy. [Brock's] willing to help you grow your business rather than say ‘take two truck loads of boats.' The product itself ranks high among fibreglass boats. People recognize that it's a good quality boat by the way it's made. That's why I went with them.'
Howell says he expects Campion's Explorer line to do well in his area. His dealership also offers South Bay pontoons and Legend boats. "In my area, fishing is really on fire – it has been for a few years,' he explains. "There are more people buying fishing boats here than any other boat. Campion's Explorer line is great for trolling on big lakes. The hardtop lets you get out of poor weather, while allowing you to continue to fish.'
Campion Marine is a family owned business with a diverse product line consisting of Chase high performance boats, Explorer sport utility boats, Allante runabouts and cruisers, Svfara wake and surf tow boats, Infinyte alternate energy boats and now Reinell runabouts and fish and ski models. In all, Campion currently offers over 50 different boat models. It also provides floor plan financing through GE Capital and TCF Inventory Financing.
