According to the National Marine Manufacturers Association's (NMMA) latest report, wholesale shipments of outboard engines in Canada were up through February 2016. NMMA gathers its data from its control group of manufacturers (representing 95 percent of the market).
Canadian shipments were up 18 percent R12M Year Over Year (YOY). Corresponding dollars were up 28 percent, while warranty card registrations were up 3.4 percent.
Meanwhile, south of the border, NMMA reports that on a rolling 12-month basis, US outboard engine wholesale shipments were up five percent YOY through February among its control group of manufacturers.
Gains were led by four-strokes and high-powered engines. Total retail sales based on warranty card registrations for the same period were up 7.3 percent.
