On Wednesday night, BRP held its dealer and employee appreciation show at the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC. The organization used the occasion to recognize and reward some of its longstanding dealers – including two Ontario-based marine dealers. The packed Bell Centre hosted nearly 10,000 guests.
Pierre Pichette, BRP's Vice President of Communications, took stage and began listing BRP’s oldest North American and international dealers for its specific brands. He invited several of their present-day principals on stage to receive a special prize, which included a Montreal Canadian’s jersey signed by the BRP senior management team as well as Montreal Canadiens defenseman, P.K. Subban, who was on-stage for the presentations.
Among the four oldest North American Evinrude dealers was Maple City Marine, in Chatham, ON. Rob Rule serves as Maple City Marine's General Manager, which first became an Evinrude dealer in 1950.
Later, BRP recognized its four oldest dealers worldwide of any of its products, which included one Canadian marine dealership – the oldest – Bonnie Boats Limited in Jacksons Point, ON, which picked up a BRP product line in 1923.
Leading up to the Bell Centre presentation, many dealers and even BRP employees had been speculating what the evening’s entertainment would include. Since BRP management remained tight-lipped about the details, nearly all in attendance were surprised when famous 70’s/80’s American rock band, Styx, took stage to perform for the rest of the evening.
