Organizers of the 2014 Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) announced that Carla Demaria, President of Monte Carlo Yachts, will deliver the keynote address at the annual Breakfast Briefing to kick off the marine trade show.
Held in Amsterdam each November, METS is one of the world's largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry. It is organized by Amsterdam RAI in association with ICOMIA. Scheduled to be held from November 18 to 20 inclusive, the 2014 METS will feature expanded operating hours, with the doors open at 9:00 am on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Demaria will share her unique insights gained over a distinguished career in the boatbuilding sector. Demaria has been the driving force behind Italian luxury yacht brand Monte Carlo Yachts since 2008.
Born in Turin, she joined the Azimut Benetti Group in 1986 and worked her way up the corporate ladder till being appointed President and Managing Director of the Atlantis brand. In 2006 Demaria was given a position on the Board of Directors of UCINA, the Italian Marine Industry Association. Two years later she was appointed Vice-Chairman of UCINA and joined the Beneteau Group to found the Monte Carlo Yachts brand – luxury motoryachts of more than 19 metres in length. In August 2011, Demaria was appointed as a member of Beneteau SA's Management Board, and three months later named General Manager for the Beneteau brand.
The Breakfast Briefing begins at 7:30 am sharp on Tuesday 18 November in the Forum of the massive Amsterdam RAI convention centre, and is followed by the 2014 DAME Awards presentations.
