Crate's Lake Country Boats To Open New Sales Offices In Penetanguishene, Ontario

At a time when many marine businesses are talking about contraction, Orillia, Ontario-based Crate's Lake Country Boats announced has it is expanding its sales operations to nearby Georgian Bay.

The company announced in late October that Crate's Lake Country Boats will open new sales offices at Beacon Bay Marina and at Bay Moorings Marina, both located in Penetanguishene, Ontario. The official launch of the new venture will take place at the Toronto International Boat Show, held in January, 2010.

In addition to full service boat brokerage, Crate's Lake Country Boats will also sell new Regal sport boats, cruisers and yachts at these locations.

“Our family has been in the business a long time, four generations in fact,” said Brian Crate. “In all my years. I've never seen such tremendous opportunity for growth. In the midst of a recession the demand for quality new and used boats is stronger than any of us could have imagined. We're not waiting for the economists to say the recession is over, we see the demand now and our goal is to be ahead of the curve as the market strengthens.”

“Opening sales offices at Beacon Bay and Bay Moorings allows us to solidify our presence on Georgian Bay” echoed Jason Crate. “So many of our clients are already in these marinas it was just a natural progression. Selling boats out of Beacon Bay and Bay Moorings allows us to better maintain relationships with our existing Georgian Bay customers and to foster new relationships with boaters we haven't yet met.”

Dan Crate believes that the move will mean more choice for boaters, both buyers and sellers alike. “In any industry we all know competition is healthy, especially for the consumer. We are fortunate to have a phenomenal reputation in the business and we believe our commitment to customer service will ensure our success in this venture. Whether it's a brand new Regal yacht or a quality brokerage boat, Georgian Bay boaters now have more choice than they had before, and that is a good thing.”

From the marina perspective, Manager of Beacon Bay Marina, Mike McKeown points out that his team's goal is to provide his marina customers with the best service possible. “Our relationship with the Crate family has existed for years and we've recently welcomed a number of Crate's Lake Country Boats clients to our marina. Family values, integrity and a commitment to customer satisfaction are the key elements that motivated us to talk to the Crate's in the first place. We know our customers are in good hands with Brian and his sons.” Jerry Haggarty, Manager of Bay Moorings Marina agreed that the deal is an exciting and positive change for his marina customers. “At the end of the day we want a company that is going to get the job done for our customers.  We believe that the Crate's have the experience, the reputation and the commitment to make this arrangement work for all of us. We are very excited about the future knowing that our boaters will be well served by Crate's Lake Country Boats.”
