Crowds Line Up For BC Boat and Sportsmen's Show

Show manager Square Feet Northwest Event Management Inc. is delighted with the turnout for the 19th annual BC Boat and Sportsmen's Show, held in conjunction with the BC Hunting Show from March 5 to 7 at the Tradex Exhibition Centre, Abbotsford, BC.

Attendance was estimated to be in excess of 30,000 visitors, with visitors lined up for blocks hours before show opening. “Attendance was definitely up this year,” said Catherine MacNutt, Marketing and Operations Manager for Square Feet Northwest Event Management. “The show was jam-packed and sold out as far as exhibit space went. This included both inside and outside displays.”

MacNutt notes that 221 exhibitors occupied more than 130,000 square feet of exhibit space. “Exhibitors reported that sales were very steady, and many gathered solid leads for additional sales after the show,” said MacNutt. “Many have already rebooked for next year's show.”

Show attendees enjoyed more than 60 free seminars, including appearances by fishing expert Brian Chan and Dave Mercer, host of television's Facts of Fishing program. “Alaska Airboats and Classic Rock 101 sponsored an adventure fishing package for two which was one of the most popular prizes,” adds MacNutt. By the end of the three-day event, more than $20,000 in prizes were given away to people who attended the show.”

The 20th anniversary edition of the BC Boat and Sportsmen's Show and the 8th BC Hunting Show will be held on March 4 to 6, 2011. For information, visit
