Edmonton Boat and Sportsmen's Show Opens March 13

Canadian National Sportsmen's Shows, producer of the Edmonton Boat and Sportsmen's Show, says this year's event will feature 75 manufacturers displaying marine products and accessories valued at over 20 million dollars. The event will run from March 13 to 16 at the Expo Centre, Northlands in Edmonton, Alberta.

CNSS says boating enthusiasts will be pleased to find an assortment of cruisers, powerboats and sailboats on display.

Event attractions around the show will once again include The Fishin' Hole, which will host its 35 Hour Savings ‘Fishtacular,' featuring new fishing gear and outdoor other products.

"Our feature presenters have always been a big draw for those that want to learn from the pros and this year we have added some new feature presenters to the mix that are both entertaining and educational,' says Laurie Paetz, Alberta Show Manager. "They include the chance to meet Jim Shockey of ‘Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures' and ‘The Professionals.''

Paetz says visitors can also watch a chainsaw wood carving demonstration by Jack McEntire. ‘Chainsaw Jack,' presented by Husqvarna, will sculpt one-of-a-kind pieces out of Canadian Poplar wood. The pieces will take shape throughout the course of the Show, and the finished products will be donated or auctioned off with all the proceeds going to local conservation and preservation groups in Alberta.
