Fortress Recycles BP Oil Spill Anchors

Brewers' Marine Supply, Hamilton, ON, has purchased a quantity of Fortress FX37 anchors previously sold to BP to hold containment booms used in the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill cleanup.

The Fortress FX37 model weighs about 22 pounds and is recommended for boats up to 51 feet in overall length. The product is made from an aluminum/magnesium alloy and is adjustable for sand and mud applications.

The refurbished product, which will be identified as Fortress model FX37BP, is available for purchase at discounted prices that can enable boaters to save up to $150 per unit, according to rep Bill Milne, of Alex Milne Associates.
