“My father, George, started our company 40 years ago and with the generous support of the community, our company has grown to two locations,” said Jeff Wilcox, president of George's Marine & Sports. “We want to celebrate with our community as well as give back to those in need.”
George Wilcox, founder of George's Marine & Sports, began his business in downtown Eganville in 1969 where he sold used cars and snowmobiles. Five years later, the store began selling boats. In 1980, Wilcox moved his store to its present day location on Snodrifters Road in Eganville, where it was provided with more potential to grow as a business. Currently, George's Marine & Sports offers boat sales, service, parts, storage, haulage and Sea-Doo rentals, and has a second, 18,000 square-foot location in Ottawa, ON.
