Marine manufacturers are greeting the new year with optimisms, as evidenced by a pair of new product introductions at the 107th New York Boat Show, running through this weekend at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
Rec Boat Holdings debuted it s all-new Glastron GT 200, described as “the first in a series of platform models to roll out in the coming weeks.” The new 20-foot outboard-powered runabout follows in the footsteps of the successful GT 160 introduced in autumn 2011, featuring an exclusive transom walk-through design with a retractable seat cushion for easy out-of-the way storage. “Our new product development plan is unfolding just as we planned,” said Roch Lambert, Group President, Rec Boat Holdings. “The new GT 200 and GT 160 is evidence of our commitment to bring the Glastron brand to the next level in terms of design, innovation and family friendly boating. The GT 200 is only the beginning of a brand new 20-foot platform, with plenty more to come.”
The company supported the launch with a “Own the Moment” retail promotion, which provides consumers with up to $5,000 in cash-back rebates. The rebate runs until March 31, 2012.
Not to be outdone, Sea Ray also took advantage of the show crowds to unveil its all-new 210 SLX. The new boat comes with a choice of two distinct cockpit configurations, each with attractive, comfort-conscious accoutrements. Owners also get a choice of interior color schemes — chocolate/taupe (standard) or taupe/white (optional) — which incorporate elegant two-tone vinyl and color-matched accents throughout. Standard power is a 220 horsepower MerCruiser 4.3L MPI engine and Alpha I sterndrive, which can be upgraded to 300 horsepower with a Bravo III drive for increased performance. Watersports enthusiasts will appreciate a lockable wakeboard locker with vinyl matting and a gas-assisted lid, as well as the optional forward-facing, folding tower with integrated Bimini top and anchor light.
