IBEX Staying in Tampa Through 2018

Organizers of the annual International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) have announced that the show will take place at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida through to 2018. Since 2013, the show has annually rotated venues between Louisville, Kentucky and Tampa Bay.

After receiving significant positive exhibitor feedback and greater industry participation at the Tampa Bay events, show producers decided to commit to the more popular venue.

"After the IBEX 2014 show in Tampa the marine industry made it very clear that this is where IBEX needs to be, and I am really pleased that we were finally able to make it happen,' says Anne Dunbar, Show Director of IBEX.  "For 2016, IBEX will expand to offer two exhibit halls and in water dock exhibits which will double in size.  We expect exhibit space to sell out very soon, we already have quite a few reservations for dock space, and we anticipate that area to fill up quickly, too.'

The future dates for IBEX have already been selected:
• October 4 to 6, 2016
• September 19 to 21, 2017
• October 2 to 4, 2018

Each event will be held Tuesday through to Thursday with pre-event conference sessions scheduled for the preceding Monday.
The Tampa Convention Center consists of 200,000 square feet of exhibit space in two exhibit halls. IBEX organizers have also announced that a second exhibit hall will be used for the 2016 event. The first floor exhibit hall will open at 9:00 am (EST), an hour earlier than the third floor exhibit hall, and will be home to the IBEX Café and several special feature areas.
Organizers say they expect 5,000 boat builders, boatyard/marina operators, designers, surveyors, retailers, dealers, and marine professionals to attend the 2016 event.

This year's event is expected to feature approximately 550 manufacturers and suppliers.

Attendees will also be able to attend in The IBEX Seminar Series, which offers technical education and attend special events including the IBEX Innovation Awards, Industry Breakfast, Opening Night Reception, Feature Areas, 3D Workshop, Future Materials Display and IBEX Fleet. Specialty Pavilions will include the Composites Pavilion, Electronics Pavilion, and Compliance and Standards Pavilion.

IBEX is owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).
