Ilmor Celebrates Production of its 1,000th Marine V8

Ilmor Marine marked the production of its 1,000th marine V8 engine with a celebration at its Mooresville, NC headquarters. The 1,000th engine, an MV8 6.2L, is manufactured at the Mooresville location.

“Today marks a very special moment in Ilmor’s history,” says Ronald A. Brown, President of Ilmor Marine. “In the last year, we have successfully overcome the challenging tasks of opening a new business and creating jobs in a difficult economy. By completing the 1000th engine, we have also achieved a new high in commercial production. We and our dedicated employees are proud to demonstrate our long-term commitment to the town of Mooresville, to the marine industry, and to our customers around the world.”

Ilmor Marine operates in a 50,000 square-foot marine engine assembly and test facility, which opened in July 2010. The plant manufactures Ilmor’s new series of inboard GM-based marine V8 (MV8) engines, and is capable of assembling up to 15,000 engines per year.

Ilmor Marine is currently the primary engine supplier to MasterCraft Boat Company.
