Dalton, Georgia-based Infinity Fabrics is seeking to increase its presence north of the border. The company, which manufacturers Luxury Woven Vinyl (LWV) flooring for numerous major boat brands as well as the RV industry, recently appointed Peter Murphy one of its newest independent sales representatives to help grow its brand in Canada.
Murphy began his career in the marine industry with Mercury Marine in 1971, but it wasn't until 1994 that he made the switch to become an independent sales rep. He believes the Infinity Fabrics brand will do well in Canada in the coming years. "We've haven't had one warranty claim in Canada yet,' says Murphy of the flooring. "A lot of people saw the product at the Toronto International Boat Show and began asking dealers about it. Now dealers are requesting samples and the product is spreading like wildfire.'
"We have begun launching new collections with stupendous, intricate designs and colours that will fascinate the senses and out-perform the competition,' says Warren McCrickard, Infinity Fabrics' Marketing and Communications Director. "We see the expansion into Canada as a natural and necessary move to ensure that every boat manufacturer, boat dealer, installer and enthusiast can purchase a product designed to simply boat life while providing a vast array of collections and colours to make an unforgettable first impression.'
The company says its flooring is anti-microbal and anti-bacterial, preventing mold and mildew growth. LWV also dries quickly, is ultra-violet stable and is completely recyclable. The flooring feels comfortable underfoot and is highly scratch resistant. Infinity Fabrics' LWV products are offered in eight-foot, six-inch and 10-foot widths on two-cushion backing thicknesses. It's also offered in 17 collections and over 160 colours.
So far, Murphy's focus has been educating Canadian OEMs as well as major upholstery and refitting dealers about the product's advantages. Aluminum boat builder, Princecraft – a Brunswick brand based in Princeville, Quebec – is already offering the LWV as an option on some of its models. Recently, Murphy signed up Morgan Upholstery and Décor, an upholstery company serving Gananoque, Kingston, Brockville and 1000 Island areas in Ontario.
Although only launched in 2007, Infinity Fabrics has already succeeded in establishing relationships with a large number of boat manufacturers. Currently, the company's LWV products are offered on boats made by Qwest, Avalon, Tahoe, Bennington, Brunswick Boat Group brands, Chaparral Boats, Crest Marine, Cruiser Yachts, Forest River Marine, G3 Boats, Landau Boats, Leisure Craft, Manitou, Marquis Yachts, Nautic Global Group, Premier Marine, Princecraft, Tiara Yachts and Tracker Marine as well as several other brands.
The eight-year-old company's founders share over forty years in flooring industry experience. Infinity Fabrics' LWV flooring is covered by a 10-year warranty.
