Organizers of the annual Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) remind exhibitors that all entries for the 2014 Design Award METS (DAME) are due by Friday, September 19, 2014.
METS exhibitors can click here to access the DAME registration page. The entry fee is €150.
One of the world's most prestigious design competitions for new marine equipment and accessories, DAME provides award winners with world-wide product and brand exposure. Sleipner Motor, based in Fredrikstad, Norway, received global press coverage after its Vector Fin stabilizer was declared 2013 DAME overall winner. "When launching a revolutionary product, where the benefits are large yet the innovation can appear to be quite simple, it can be a real challenge to get the message across to customers,' said Managing Director, Ronny Skauen. "Winning the DAME award lends a great deal of credibility to the claims, avoiding the sometimes difficult task of explaining the technology in detail to interested customers. The more innovative and revolutionary a product is, the greater the influence the DAME award has in reaching the world market.'
Once again all proceeds from the awards will once be donated to charity. Since 2005, METS has supported AMREF Flying Doctors on even-numbered years, and 2014 entry fees will contribute to sustainable water access for the Masai in Kajiado, Kenya. This project focuses on a reduction in the number of water-related diseases by improving access to safe drinking water for approximately 50,000 people.
The 2014 METS 2014 will be held from November 18 to 20 at the sprawling RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
