Boating Ontario was established in 1967. Historically, the association has aided its membership by providing a unified voice in front of policy setters and government – more recently concerning the impact of increases in water lot leases, property taxes, meeting Technical Standard and Safety Authority (TSSA) regulations and training cost requirements. Boating Ontario also aims to attract newcomers to boating. Currently the association has approximately 550 members.
