Tournament-fishing organization, FLW, has formed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with marine electronics maker, Lowrance (wholly owned by Navico) that will extend through the 2015 season. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
FLW Tour anglers utilized Lowrance's HDS Gen2 Touch units in 2013. In 2014, FLW Tour pros will once again showcase the fishing features of Lowrance electronics, particularly in the Pickwick Lake event in Tennessee and Kentucky Lake event in Kentucky, where locating deep fish will play vital roles in the tournaments.
In recent years, Lowrance has produced several new marine products, including its HDS Gen2 Touch displays, StructureScan HD, DownScan Imaging and the Insight Genesis web-based map-making tool.
For 2014, Lowrance has launched a commitment to college fishing through its Insight Genesis College Cup, which will award more than US $100,000 in Lowrance product. In the yearlong competition (January 1 to December 31, 2014), college bass anglers and teams compete by recording sonar log data and uploading it to the Insight Genesis College Cup website. Individuals and teams that upload the most sonar data, by acreage, will win monthly and annual prizes.
