The Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show (MAATS) will be returning to the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV, July 14 to 16, 2010. The event will once again be held in conjunction with the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST). MAATS and ICAST wrapped up their 2009 events in Orlando, FL on Friday.
“There is a tremendous amount of synergy with ICAST and we felt it would be relevant to continue that,” said Stephen Evans, director, trade events/meeting service for the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). “It's a very viable format, especially for the newer exhibitors. This year we had 55 new exhibitors.”
According to the NMMA, this year's MAATS event attracted approximately 210 exhibitors compared to 293 exhibitors in 2008. And after relocating the show from Las Vegas, the response from exhibitors has also been positive.
“Right now the plan is to have a comparable schedule to what we had this year,” continued Evans. “The buyer supplier meetings would be held in the morning and the tradeshow would be open in the afternoon. The reception will likely be on Wednesday.”
According to Kenneth Andres, ICAST associate, once ICAST's commitments to its Las Vegas venue are complete, Orlando, FL will be considered as a location for future shows.
“We're back in Las Vegas for the next two years,” said Andres.
