Marlon Recreational Products, based in Chilliwack, BC will be opening a new warehouse in Acheson, Alberta on the west side of Edmonton come early March. No dealer shipment delays are expected as a result of setting up the new location.
“With the continued growth of Marlon, the products we represent and the products we have built for us, we felt it necessary to open a facility in Alberta to service the market and our growing dealer base there,” says Bruce Cameron, Owner of Marlon Recreational Products. “We also plan to start to service the Saskatchewan market from this facility in the very near future.”
According to Cameron, last year Marlon Recreational Products experienced a 35 percent growth in sales, measured from the start of September to the end of August.
The Acheson warehouse is Marlon Recreational Products' second location. It will carry all of the company's lines except for Princecraft boats. The 5,000 square-foot warehouse is located on a one-acre property, but is still smaller than the company's 7,500 square-foot warehouse on the Chilliwack head office's two-acre property.
Cameron says the new warehouse is a rented portion of Roswell Wake-Air's building, a manufacturer of boat towers. “We had a hard time finding a place with inside and outside storage in the area,” says Cameron. “Over the next couple of years we'll keep looking to find our own location or end up building our own warehouse like we did in Chilliwack.”
