Master Promotions Ltd., Saint John, NB, recently acquired Square Feet Northwest Event Management, Abbotsford, BC, adding the BC Boat & Sportmen's Show/BC Hunting Show and The BC Log Home Timber Frame & Country Living Show to its collection of shows now totaling 35 events.
“We're trying to strengthen our presence everywhere,” says Keith Peacock, Master Promotions' Vice-President of Operations. “These shows were good fits for our portfolio. We are in a bit of an expansion mode, and have been for a few years. Square Feet's philosophy towards shows was similar to our own in that we're very hands-on starting from the owner of the company and down. We don't see that anything needs to be changed, so it will be business as usual. Most people won't even notice there has been a change.”
Les Trendall will retain his position as show manager for both the shows in Abbotsford.
“Les blends in well with our operations and management staff and he's a good fit for our company,” describes Peacock.
Besides its recent additions, Master Promotions lineup of shows include several other marine events targeted for both consumers and the marine trades.
“We do the Halifax International Boat Show, the Moncton Boat Show,” lists Peacock. “On the trade side we also do commercial fishing shows in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.”
Master Promotions' marine trade shows include the Aquaculture Pacific Exchange in Campbell River, BC, Fish Canada/Workboat Canada in Moncton, NB, the North Atlantic Fish & Workboat Show in St. John's, NL, and the Eastern Canadian Fisheries Expo in Yarmouth, NS. Master Promotions has been organizing shows since 1973 and has a staff of 35 people.
