Peter Kiddell, President of Canwest Shows Inc., Calgary, AB, has announced that the Muskoka In-Water Boat & Cottage Show, held annually in Gravenhurst, ON, will now be owned and operated by Caneast Shows in Ottawa, ON. Previously the show was owned and operated by Canwest Shows.
Kiddell is an owner of both Canwest Shows and Caneast Shows, but has a partner with Caneast who is better situated to care for the Ontario-based show.
“I have a partner in Caneast, Ian Forsyth, who is President and Managing Partner of that company,” explains Kiddell of the change. “He's closer to Muskoka and his team will be running the show along with a new Show Manager, Nori Richens.”
According to Kiddell, Richens will be responsible for handling the show's sales, promotions, sponsorships, features and day-to-day operations from her office in Toronto, ON.
“Previously we were bringing a whole crew from the west to run the show,” continues Kiddell. “Now it has grown too big to handle from where we are. Ian has a history of running the Cottage Life Show for about 15 years and he's very respected in the cottage and boating industries.”
The third annual Muskoka In-Water Boat and Cottage Show and Muskoka RIB Fest is scheduled for July 23 to 25, 2010.
