Peter Murphy and Associates is now representing a new line of pontoon boats called Hampton. The Hampton line, built by PlayCraft Boats in Richland, MO, will include 20-, 22- and 24-foot models.
“PlayCraft will private brand Hampton for the Canadian market,” said Peter Murphy. “However, they will be different from PlayCraft pontoons.”
According to Murphy, PlayCraft is soliciting dealers across Canada to take on the line. Orders placed for Hampton will be dealer direct. Currently, there are several dealers for the Hampton line in the United States.
“We just got the prototype boats in a couple of weeks ago, and we should be in production this week,” said Murphy. “They are available now. As soon as we place orders, we can put them into production.”
There are also plans to introduce the Hampton line at a future boat show. “I think there will be space available at the Toronto International Boat Show next year,” said Murphy.
“They are a very dressed up entry-level boat,” described Murphy. “They come in at eight-and-a-half feet wide, have 25-inch logs, aluminum corner castings, keel guards, a one-piece floor, rotocast seat frames, a built-in 30-gallon fuel tank, full instrumentation, tach, speedo, fuel gauge, horn and a 12V outlet.”
Hampton's power options include Mercury, Evinrude and Honda, but are offered without an engine as well.
“There is a market for an entry-level pontoon that looks expensive,” said Murphy. “Were putting a lot of standard features into it and we offer nine options.”
They include vinyl floors, a ski tow, factory-installed marine cover, change room, performance package, third log with lifting strake, two levels of hydraulic steering and a fish package.
