International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) and IBI magazine will be holding a ‘Workshop on New Technologies and Manufacturing' during this year's METS show at the Amsterdam RAI on November 20.
The workshop is tailored for boat builders operating internationally. Participants can expect the following subjects to be covered:
• Discuss available technologies and business practices which are easy to implement in manufacturing
• Learn about new technologies, processes and design solutions; improve your products and reduce costs
• Information on technologies proven in other industries with significant marine potential and particular interest
• Topics such as design for disassembly; modularization in boatbuilding; design, installation and maintenance of large battery banks; glazing – technology and standardization developments; changes to existing ISO standards and the new Recreational Craft Directive
The Workshop will also include a presentation by yacht designer Kiko Villalon entitled 'Vision on Future Yacht Design'. Villalon has worked with production boat builders such as Sea Ray, Regal, Cobia, Chaparral, Ebbtide, MonArk, Sportcraft, MasterCraft, Thundercraft and Four Winns.
