The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) returns to Canada this spring with its training courses, offering classes in Toronto, ON March 4 to 5 and in Richmond, BC March 18 to 19.
Toronto courses will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. On March 4th, the NMEA starts its training tour with a Marine Electronics Installer (MEI) course, followed by the NMEA 2000 Networking course on March 5th.
In Richmond the courses will be held at Best Western Richmond Hotel and Convention Center, with the MEI course on March 18th and the NMEA 2000 Networking course on March 19th.
The MEI course provides dealer staff instruction on computers and networking, and NMEA 2000 installation and troubleshooting. Other topics that are covered include SSB installation, electromagnetic interference, testing and commissioning, antenna arrangement and installation, and transducer and radar installation. The cost of the MEI course has increased for this year to $375 for NMEA members and $575 for non-members.
The NMEA 2000 Networking course also provides additional NMEA 2000 training, which entails network planning, installation practices and implementation, and troubleshooting techniques. The cost of the course has also increased to $375 for NMEA members and $575 for non-members.
