The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) in the US has announced that its will be launching a new boat show in San Francisco, California from January 23 to 26. The show will be held at McCovey Cove and feature an in-water portion at Pier 48, adjacent to AT&T Park.
The Progressive Insurance San Francisco Boat Show comes directly as a result of NMMA's recent integration with the Northern California Marine Association (NCMA).
"The industry has long needed a major boat show in northern California,' said Thom Dammrich. "With the successful integration of NCMA with NMMA, an improving economy and market ripe for a boat marketplace, now is the perfect time for the launch as we position the northern California marine industry for growth. NMMA has the resources to build a show that is a significant selling event for the region's marine industry and an ultimate boating experience for attendees.'
According to the NMMA, the show will have the capacity for 100 large boats in-water and dozens of exhibits for boats and marine accessories on land. NMMA believes its central location and proximity to public transportation and parking will attract new and current boaters from the Bay Area and beyond.
The show is set to feature a mixture of new and brokerage boats, both power and sail, representing dozens of brands and models from the region's dealers, as well as displays to showcase the industry's newest accessories and technology.
Event will also include a variety of boating attractions, including educational seminars, and on-land and in-water workshops for both novice and experienced boaters.
