The Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association (NSBA) will be holding a four-day American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Electrical Certification Course at the Atlantic Beer Institute in the Brewery Market Building in Halifax, NS, from November 29 to December 2.
Facilitated by ABYC, this course is designed for the marine technician with at least three to five years' experience working with marine electricity. The student also needs some familiarity with ABYC electrical standards.
Course topics include: electrical theory, lead-acid batteries, using a multi-meter, battery testing, generator sets, inverters, grounding and bonding systems, troubleshooting and more.
Each student will be shipped an ABYC study guide which should be studied prior to class. Your ABYC study guide contains all the pertinent ABYC standards for the course.
The fee to register is CAN $450 plus HST for NSBA and AMTA (Atlantic Marine Trade Association) members, and CAN $500 plus HST for nonmembers.
