The Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association (NSBA) is reminding industry members that its Nova Scotia Marine Industry Conference 2014 will take place at The Lord Nelson Hotel from Thursday, February 27 to Friday February 28.
The conference is set to feature a seminar program including Jeff Wright from Gougeon Brothers, who will speak about common errors made in fibreglass repairs; Alastair Smith from Alexseal Yacht Coatings, who will discuss painting boats for profit; and Pete Lafreniere from Legend Boats on ‘Marketing boats – a winning formula.'
The industry reception on Thursday evening has an America's Cup Race theme with New Zealander, Richard Downs-Honey providing his views on technology trickle-down to everyday boats. Downs-Honey was part of the NZ Team that built the first composites America's Cup challenger.
The event will also feature food, a cash bar and live music in the evening. Several marine suppliers will also be exhibiting products during the conference.
