Ontario Dealer Adds Tiara Yachts and Rossiter Brands

Ed Huck Marine, located in Rockport, Ontario, has become a dealer of the Tiara Yachts and Rossiter brands.

Serving many boaters in the 1000 Islands, the marina dealer is celebrating its 125th year in business in 2014. Ed Huck Marine has been located on the same property since Fred Huck started the business in 1889. The dealer agreed to take on the Rossiter line during the Toronto International Boat Show in January and the Tiara line shortly after the Miami International Boat Show in February.

Markdale, Ontario-based Rossiter Boats most recently announced the addition of the R23 Classic Day Boat to its lineup. Scott MacCrimmon, Co-Owner of Ed Huck Marine says the dealership will offer the Canadian boatbuilder's powerboats as well as its rowboats. "We just received our first shipment of Rossiter boats last week,' he explains. "I will have the full line, including the 14, 17 and – later in June – the 23. Rossiter is the perfect blend of tradition and progressive boat styling. People in our area appreciate a traditional approach to boat design and the Rossiter brand fits in. We've sold six of them already. I think the 17- and the 23-foot models are really going to appeal to islanders that want big, open floor space and a deep deadrise that's great in rough water.'

MacCrimmon says the Rossiters he's sold to date include 14- and 17-foot models as well as rowing skiffs.

Tiara Yachts, headquartered in Holland, Michigan, manufactures yachts with inboard power from 31 to 58 feet. The yacht builder is a subsidiary of S2 Yachts, Inc., one of the oldest privately held boat manufacturers in the United States.

"We are very excited to partner with such a reputable dealership,' said George Hetzel, VP of Sales and Marketing, S2 Yachts. "By continuing to add premier dealerships like Ed Huck Marine to our network, we are ensuring that our customers get the first-class treatment they have come to expect when purchasing a Tiara.'

"Growing up in this business, I've always admired and respected the Tiara brand,' said MacCrimmon. "While the boats retain a timelessness that continues to appeal to our customers, we are most excited with the progressive new models being developed like the Coronets and Coupes. We are thrilled to become the Tiara Yachts dealer for the Ontario market and look forward to a long relationship with Tiara and its associates.'

Despite the challenges faced by the segment in recent years, MacCrimmon says Ed Huck has chosen now to jump back into the cruiser market. "Our customers are gravitating towards top-tier brands. They're quality brands with excellent re-sale value.'

Ed Huck Marine will have a 3100 Coronet and 3600 Coronet at their docks in early June. "I also love the new 44 Coupe, which will be released later this season,' adds MacCrimmon. "I'm not likely to stock the 50, it might be a little big for our market.'
