Deerbrook Marina Inc., located in Lakeshore, Ontario, adjacent to Lake St. Clair on the Ruscom River, has been placed into receivership. Its court-appointed receiver, KPMG Inc., will accept written proposals from parties interested in acquiring the assets until February 4, 2011.
The facility, a former dealership for Triton, Lund, South Bay, Monterey and Mercury Marine, includes 104 boat slips, a store and repair shop, twin concrete launch ramps, a heated warehouse with storage for approximately 40 boats, two winterized rental cottages on-site, and a 2,200 square foot personal residence also on-site.
In 2006, Deerbrook Marina was awarded Five Anchor designation under the Clean Marine program administered by the Ontario Marine Operator's Association/Boating Ontario – at the time one of only 12 marinas in Ontario to qualify for the rating. The marina also received a Green Marina Environmental Award in 2007.
Sealed proposals should be directed to KPMG Inc. at 140 Fullarton Street, 12th Floor, London, Ontario N6A 5P2 no later than 12:00 noon (EST) time on Friday, February 4, 2011. KPMG notes that proposals for the purchase of the operations and assets en bloc will receive special consideration, and that the highest or any proposal will not necessarily be accepted. All proposals must be accompanied by a refundable deposit representing 10 percent of the purchase price offered, and conform with the terms and conditions as set out in the Confidential Information Memorandum (CIM). To obtain a copy of the CIM, or to arrange for inspection of the assets and operations, please contact Adam Carter at (519) 660-2145 or by email at email@example.com.
