Parks Canada is offering a major incentive for boat buyers to kick off 2016. Consumers who purchase a new boat at the Toronto International Boat Show (January 9 to 17) will receive a free seasons pass for lockage on The Trent-Severn Waterway, The Rideau Canal and The Quebec Canals from Parks Canada.
Once again, boaters purchasing a single lock and return permit or a one day permit at lock stations from May 20 to June 30 can receive a second permit of equal value for free by presenting a coupon.
Coupons will be distributed at the Toronto International Boat Show, the Ottawa Boat and Sportsmen's Show, the Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show and the Spring Cottage Life Show in Toronto. They will also be made available through numerous marinas and cottage associations.
Early Bird Offer for Purchases of Passes
Parks Canada is also offering avid boaters early bird specials. Until March 31, boaters will receive 10 percent off mooring with the purchase of a seasonal lockage and mooring package ($1.00 off per foot) or one free night of mooring with the purchase of a six-day permit.
Parks Canada says its promotional efforts are intended to encourage new and continued use of its beautiful historic canals and waterways.
