For the past sixteen years, the Boating Ontario Association (previously known as the Ontario Marine Operators Association) has benefited from the leadership of Al Donaldson. He first joined Canada's largest recreational boating association in 1999, playing a key role in the association's growth and development.
During his tenure with Boating Ontario, Donaldson has been instrumental in many of the association's initiatives, including the development and implementation of the world-renowned Clean Marine Program; creation of the Robbert Hartog Boating Centre of Excellence at Georgian College; and convincing the government to commit $15 million to an emergency dredging program for the Great Lakes – to name a few.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors, I invite you join us as we celebrate Al's incredible years of service to the Boating Ontario,' says Richard Carroll, Chairman – Boating Ontario Association. "Although our annual conference takes place later in the month, we will not be doing a formal celebration at that time. Hosting this celebration evening is a small token of our appreciation for everything Al has done for the Boating Ontario and the marine industry in Canada.'
Boating Ontario is calling on industry members to come together to celebrate Al's dedication and commitment to the recreational boating industry. The event will be held on November 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton Markham Suites, 8500 Warden Avenue in Markham, Ontario.
